After St. Malo we headed to the world famous Mont Saint Michel.
In olden times, the Mount was connected to the mainland via a thin natural land bridge, which before modernization was covered at high tide and revealed at low tide. Thus, Mont Saint Michel gained a mystical quality, being an island half the time, and being attached to land the other: a tidal island.
Even now, when the tide is low, people like to wade into the exposed land around the Mont. When we were returning from our visit up the Abbey, we saw this group of people exploring the area. It was raining heavily and the vantage point was on a slope with people running around for shelter. I think I was lucky to have got this shot without too much of a shake.

It was getting late at St. Malo and I was snapping without really looking at the full setting. Imagine my surprise when I saw this capture. Something about it makes me look at it twice. The lady in the background seems to be walking towards the sea with emphatic strides of someone who knows what she is doing.
The bird doesn't seem to be too sure of that though.

Spikes in the sand at St. Malo beach. These are supposedly used to prevent the tide from coming too much into the land.

We went on a week vacation to some parts of Normandy region of France. This is a section of the beach at St. Malo. I came upon these two guys engrossed in building sand castles, while their kids (I presume) were walking around at a distance. I wish I could get them too in the frame.
I guess the kid in all of us never die!

A submerged sign at Zaanse Schans, Netherlands. A bit old I know, but I need to push out some of these or my backlog will keep growing!

Another of my experimental shots. A box inside the Utrecht church. I stand guilty of photoshopping the shot to get something interesting out of it :)

Next to the Cathedral at Utrecht, there was a small garden that had a statue in the middle of a lady (?) reading something with these dragon like creatures adorning the lower section of the statue.

This gnome was sitting just behind our house when we moved into it in early January. I had wanted to compare this shot with a shot taken later during spring/summer but somehow it just not seem to be coming out right. Rather than wait for a good summer shot, I decided to go ahead and post this.

I was going through some archives and came across a snap that I had processed for InSight but which strangely never ended up here. So, here it is now. Shot somewhere at Alhambra.
